We were asked to create merchandise for a visitor attraction in Northampton, a house designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
Research & Ideation:
As a group, we came up with the concept ‘Contemporary Classics’, aiming to reflect the building’s contemporary features in simple homewear, toys and posters. During the earlier stages, I focused on incorporating patterns found in the house onto toys and an umbrella.
In production
The client liked our toys, however, they thought the homewear line Bethany Amison had created would be an easy win with their target audience. I helped her create more objects and the tea towels and oven gloves are now being sold with the prospect of more being created.
